FUN Acura Facts:
The first Acura was the Legend sedan, which appeared in 1986. Shortly
after, Acura introduced the Acura Legend coupe and the Acura Integra
sport coupes and sedans.
In 1990 Acura unveiled the exotic Acura NSX sport coupe. Motor Trend
called it the "best sports car ever built."
In 1991, the Acura Legend coupe won Motor Trend's Import Car of the
Year trophy. Also in 1991, the Integra was voted one of Car &
Driver's Ten Best.
The Acura MDX sport-utility vehicle was rolled out in 2000. It was
designed and developed at a Honda Research & Development
facility in Ohio and is built in North America. Shortly after its
introduction, the MDX won the Motor Trend "2001 Sport/Utility
of the Year" award.
In 2001, the streamlined Acura RSX sports coupe was introduced. It was
the first Acura to employ the i-VTEC™ system.
In April 2003, Acura introduced the 2004 Acura TSX sports sedan.
In October of 2003, Acura announced the new 2004 TL, including
HandsFreeLink™ with Bluetooth® wireless technology.
One of the latest additions to the Acura family is the 2005 RL. And
the RL is North America's first and only automobile to include a
telematics system that displays real time traffic updates in select
metropolitan areas.
